Int. Stadium - Night

Phillies game.  Jessica and Luke are in the stands.  There is an open seat next to Jessica.  A man sits next to Jess and starts invading her leg room with his legs so that they are rubbing up against her.

Jessica (to Luke)

Are you seeing this?

Luke

Yea, these umps are bullshit.

Jessica

No, I mean this guy next to me.  He is pushing his legs up against mine.

Luke

Well push back.

Jessica

No, he may be trying to send me some signal or something.  Like he wants to have sex with me.

The man keeps pushing further and further so that he is taking up over half of Jessica’s leg room.

Jessica

This is ridiculous.

Luke

Well say something to him.

Jessica

I don’t want to cause a problem.

Luke

He’s the one causing a problem.  I’ll say something to him.

Luke turns to say something to him and stops.  The man has taken his left foot out of his shoe and put it on the seat in front of him, revealing that he only has half a foot.

Luke

Oh my God.

Jessica and Luke both stare at the half foot.

Luke (con’t)

Sorry, you’re on your own.

Jessica

What!  You can’t do this to me.  I feel very uncomfortable.

Luke

I was ready to help you.  But I can’t tell a guy with half a foot what to do.  He may have lost it in defense of our country.

Jessica

Half a foot does not give you carte blanche to invade people’s personal space.  This guy is pushing the limits of what is acceptable at a ballgame.

Luke

Well you are going to have to say something.

Jessica

No, I’m out of here.  I can’t deal with this. 

Jessica exits in the opposite direction of the close sitter.  Luke turns his attention back to the game.  After a few moments he feels someone’s legs pressing up against his.  He looks to his left and sees the close sitter has moved into the seat next to him.
